I was curious as to whether or not there was a significant lifespan difference between the typical mutt betta(Found at Petsmart/Walmart/etc) and the showy fish carefully bred with pedigree and form in mind. Does anyone know much about mustard gas and opaque genetics? I'm trying to find two fishies to pair up for my next spawn and realized that my Opaque boy has the best finnage out of all of my boys. The copper plakat spawn went well today, they spawned for about two hours this morning starting at about 9 a.m. This is my first time breeding bettas on my own, the first time was with the help of my girlfriend. I took some pictures of the males in my two new pairs. Yes I did it again and bought two more pairs which now makes it a total of five breeding pairs (2 Deltas, 2 Halfmoons, and one DT Pair).
